One less thing on the bucket list

Today was an interesting day. Instead of going to the office I landed in the Emergency Room. I was on my way to work, taking the commuter train, when I started to feel very dizzy and lightheaded. My heart started doing flips in my chest and cold sweat poured over me followed by the feeling of nausea. I was just seconds away from passing out but lucky had enough energy to stumble over to the vestibule where I found a conductor who helped me off the train.
When I got off, the cold air hit my face and I felt better but not good enough to jump back on the train and continue on. I have never felt anything like this before and requested that an ambulance be called. That's when the conductor contacted his dispatch who then called the local emergency services.
Two cruisers, a fire truck and an ambulance all showed up at the same time. The police officers where the first to show up on the platform. Once they were assured that I was not in any immediate danger they left and the paramedics took over.

I give those guys props. They hauled my fat ass up two long flights of stairs, almost dropping me at one point in time. I am glad they didn't.

The ride to the hospital was very quick. One thing that surprised me is that even though the lights and siren were on, I did not hear anything inside the ambulance. Oh maybe I was just in too much of a shock to comprehend the noise. Well, whatever the case may be, the ride was uneventful. I received two IVs and Oxygen and was dropped off at the ER of a local hospital.
I can now cross a ride in an ambulance off my bucket list.
