Dear Politicians...

Dear Politicians,

I urge you to listen to the will of all the people and not resort to creating knee-jerk reactionary policies based upon personal opinion. I urge you to disregard the biased media and untruths gained second hand. I urge you to examine all information available and not be blind to facts that warrant merit on all sides of the debate. I urge you to strongly oppose any measures that would strip me of my inherent rights and deprive me of my freedoms, liberties, property or the value thereof.

As a father I am deeply saddened by the tragedy in Newtown and have mourned for the innocent victims. But I am also a gun owner. The relentless attacks aimed at me, a law abiding citizen, supporter of the second amendment and a patriot are hurtful and without merit.

I have been a firearms enthusiast for almost 10 years. I am a pistol permit holder, recreational shooter and hobbyist gunsmith. I have done everything required of me to prove, and continue to prove my due diligence, obedience and adherence to the laws of Massachusetts and the laws of this land. Yet, my rights to my property, to liberty and to my pursuit of happiness continue to be threatened as a result of no fault of my own.

I stand firm in support of you and every other legislator in our great nation who is willing to approach the problems we collectively face with courage and common sense. And I remind you of your affirmation by oath to protect my rights and the rights of the people as provided for in the Constitution of the United States.

Sincerely and respectfully

American Gun Owner
