All the doors are closed...what now?

My five hour daily commute has really been getting to me lately but there isn’t much I can do about it so I deal with it as best as I can. The fact that I have to pay $280 (soon to go up again) every month for a sub-par service doesn't help the matter. Well, today the already sucky commute became just a little bit suckier when the inbound train pulled into my station with all the staircase platforms and doors closed and no conductors in sight. The station erupted in a panic as none of the passengers seemed to know what to do. They all started running around like sheep trying to find an open door. Hey morons, how about one of you try to open a door and climb up? Sure, it is a pain in the A$$ but it beats standing on the platform and peeing one’s pants in terror. The door I opened turned out to be more difficult than usual. Somehow climbing up onto a 4 foot high platform with a heavy shoulder bag and trying not to get dirty while doing it proved to be trickier than I remember. Good thing I had lost some weight in the recent weeks or this could have been embarrassing.
